Gabriel M Stine

About me:

I am a Postdoctoral Associate in Mehrdad Jazayeri’s lab at MIT, where I study how cerebellar-thalamocortical interactions support cognition. I am broadly interested in the neurobiological and computational principles that give rise to flexible, adaptive behavior. In 2022, I completed my PhD on the neural mechanisms of perceptual decision making, working with Michael Shadlen at Columbia University. I also played a role in developing neuropixels-NHP probes and have considerable experience using them to record from many brain regions simultaneously.

In addition to my scientific interests, I am passionate about community building. I reestablished and serve as chair of the MIT Brain and Cognitive Sciences Postdoc Association, working on a variety of initiatives to improve our community at MIT and beyond. I also sit on the Cosyne Mentoring and Networking Committee, for which I spearhead the Buddy program.
